Arlon 85N PCB — High-temperature polyimide
85N: high-temperature polyimide. A polyimide material for high-temperature circuit construction.
Manufacturer-listed material. Exact construction, availability and lead time require project-specific confirmation.
Where 85N fits in your design
Provide the service temperature profile and assembly exposure separately. Review via fatigue against the actual stack thickness. Define what the material must achieve in the finished board before selecting thickness, copper and surface finish. The material name alone does not define a manufacturable construction.
Material identification and technical reference
| Exact designation | 85N |
|---|---|
| Material role | High-temperature polyimide |
| Reference information | A polyimide material for high-temperature circuit construction. |
| Supply status | Listed on manufacturer website; stock not confirmed |
Typical values are reference information, not acceptance limits. Match the test method, frequency, conditioning, thickness and document revision before comparing data. Missing figures are intentionally not estimated.
Fabrication review for 85N
- Identify the construction. Provide the drawing revision, exact grade, layer sequence, dielectric thicknesses and copper requirements. Mark whether substitutions are prohibited or require written approval.
- Review processing compatibility. Review hole preparation, metallization, dimensional movement and the complete thermal history with the selected construction.
- Set measurable acceptance criteria. Identify impedance coupons, dimensional checks, electrical testing and cross-sections that are required for this project. Do not assume a catalogue material specification covers finished-board reliability.
What changes the cost?
A useful 85N quotation starts with quantity, panel use and the exact material construction. Special thicknesses, foil requirements, additional lamination cycles and project-specific inspection can change sourcing and processing costs. A generic multiplier against FR-4 cannot establish the price of your build. Use the design and cost planning tools to organize the requirements, then request a written project quotation.
Prepare your 85N inquiry
Upload your fabrication drawing, stack-up and Gerber or ODB++ package through our project inquiry form. Include board size, quantity, finish, delivery target and the exact material designation. If this is an existing design, attach the approved material specification and identify any substitution restrictions.
Questions about 85N
Can another grade replace 85N?
Only after design and procurement approval. Compare material role, electrical properties, expansion, bond system and the qualified process. A similar dielectric constant or product name is not sufficient evidence.
Is 85N available for immediate manufacture?
Availability depends on the required thickness, foil and order quantity. Send the exact requirement through the inquiry form for a sourcing review before committing to a schedule.
